Our youngest son was born a little too early almost 13 years ago. He was born at 35 weeks 6 days and although that isn’t too too early for most, it was for him. He spent 10 long days in the NICU at South Shore Hospital and as his official teen years approach, he has decided that he wants to give back to the place where he got his start.
I reached out to the hospital for ideas on how he could give back and we all decided on a toy drive that would benefit siblings of NICU patients, as well as patients on the pediatric unit.
Some ideas on what would be helpful to donate include:
- Coloring books & crayons
- Kids’ DVDs (can be used)
- Stuffed animals (must be new)
- Books (must be new)
- Toys (new and gently used)
- Infant bouncy seats
- Mobiles for cribs
If you’d like to donate and it would be easier to shop on Amazon and have it shipped to me, I’ve set up an Amazon Wish List that you can shop from, too.
